MP3, WAV, M4A, MP4 and more · transcribed on your device, never uploaded
The first run downloads a one-time speech model to your browser. Long files take longer and the tab may be busy while transcribing — your audio never leaves your device.
How to transcribe audio or video
- Drop your audio or video file into the box above.
- Wait while the model loads and transcribes (first run is slowest).
- Edit the transcript if needed.
- Copy it, or download a .txt transcript or .srt subtitle file.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my file uploaded anywhere?
- No. The audio is transcribed by a speech model that runs entirely inside your browser, so your recording never leaves your device.
- What files can I use?
- Common audio (MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG) and video (MP4, WebM, MOV) files. The audio track is read straight from the file.
- Can I get subtitles?
- Yes. As well as plain text, you can download an .srt subtitle file with timestamps, ready to load into a video player or editor.
- How accurate is it, and how long does it take?
- Accuracy is very good for clear speech. The first run downloads a one-time model, and longer recordings take longer — a fast computer with WebGPU is quickest.
