- How are temperature conversions handled?
- Temperature uses proper offset formulas, not a simple multiplication factor. For example, Celsius to Fahrenheit is °F = °C × 9/5 + 32, and Celsius to Kelvin is K = °C + 273.15. These are applied correctly regardless of the direction of conversion.
- What happens with very small or very large numbers?
- Results smaller than 0.000001 or larger than 1 trillion are shown in scientific notation (e.g., 3.0e+8) to keep the display readable. Regular numbers are shown with up to 10 significant digits.
- Are the conversion factors accurate?
- Yes — the tool uses the exact internationally-defined conversion factors where they exist (e.g., 1 inch = 0.0254 m exactly). For derived units they are calculated from the base definitions.
