Frequently asked questions
- Is my video uploaded to a server?
- No. GIF conversion runs entirely in your browser using WebAssembly. Your video never leaves your device.
- Why is my GIF file so large?
- GIFs store every frame without inter-frame compression, so they get large quickly. Reduce the duration, lower the FPS to 10–12, or choose a smaller output width.
- What does the two-pass palette approach do?
- In the first pass the tool analyses all the frames to build an optimal 256-colour palette. The second pass uses that palette to render each frame, giving much better colour quality than a generic palette.
- What formats can I convert from?
- Any video format your browser can play — MP4, MOV, WebM, MKV, and more.
