A TinyPNG Alternative That Compresses Without Uploading
TinyPNG does a great job, but it uploads every image to its servers and the free tier limits how many (and how large) you can compress. QuickWand's compressor takes a different route: it runs locally in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and there's no daily cap.
How it compares
| TinyPNG (free) | QuickWand | |
|---|---|---|
| Where images are processed | Uploaded to their server | In your browser — no upload |
| Free limit | Capped count / size | No daily limit |
| Formats | PNG, JPG, WebP | PNG, JPG, WebP |
| Live size preview | No | Yes — updates as you adjust |
| Sign-up | For higher limits | Never |
Compress without uploading
- Open the image compressor.
- Drop in your PNG, JPG, or WebP files (a whole batch is fine).
- Pick a format and quality — the estimated output size updates live.
- Download individually or as a ZIP.
Why local compression is better here
Because images never leave your device, it's private and instant — no upload wait, no server queue, no limit. It's especially handy for batches of product photos or screenshots you'd rather not send to a third party. Need lossless graphics? Keep PNG and reduce the resolution; for photos, WebP at 80–85% is tiny and looks identical.
