iPhone HEIC Photos on Poshmark: How to Fix Them

You photographed an item on your iPhone, moved the pictures to your computer to list on Poshmark's website, and the upload just won't take. The listing won't accept your photos — and it's not your connection. Poshmark doesn't support the .heic format your iPhone used to save them.

Convert the photos to JPG and they'll upload without a hitch.

How to convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG for Poshmark

QuickWand's free HEIC to JPG converter runs entirely in your browser — your closet photos are never uploaded to a server.

  1. Open the HEIC to JPG converter.
  2. Drag your .heic photos in, or click to browse. Add all the photos for your listing at once.
  3. Choose JPG and set quality to about 90% so buyers can clearly see the condition, fabric, and details of your item.
  4. Download the JPGs — individually or as a single ZIP — then add them to your Poshmark listing on the web.

Why this happens with Poshmark

Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC by default to save storage space. The Poshmark app handles iPhone photos fine because the photos are already on your phone — but when you list from a computer through the website, Poshmark does not natively accept HEIC files. That mismatch is exactly why your upload fails on desktop but works in the app.

Converting to JPG fixes it because JPG is the universal photo format that every website and browser accepts.

Prevent it for future listings

If you regularly list from your computer, switch your iPhone to save JPGs: open Settings → Camera → Formats and choose Most Compatible. New photos will be JPG and upload anywhere. Photos already in your camera roll stay HEIC, so keep the converter handy for those.

Bonus: keep your listing photos quick to load

Poshmark shoppers scroll fast, so snappy photos help. If your converted JPGs are large, run them through the free image compressor at 80–85% quality. The photos look identical but the files are much smaller, so they upload faster and load instantly for buyers.

Convert HEIC to JPG, compress if you like, and your iPhone photos will upload to Poshmark from any device.

Frequently asked questions

Why won't my iPhone photos upload to Poshmark from my computer?
Poshmark does not natively support the HEIC format for web uploads, and newer iPhones save photos as HEIC by default. When you transfer those .heic files to your computer and try to upload them to a Poshmark listing on the web, they get rejected. Converting them to JPG first solves it.
How do I convert HEIC photos to JPG for Poshmark?
Use a free HEIC to JPG converter: drop your .heic photos in, choose JPG output, and download the results. QuickWand's converter runs in your browser so nothing is uploaded, then you add the JPGs to your Poshmark listing as normal.
Can I stop my iPhone from saving HEIC photos?
Yes. Go to Settings, then Camera, then Formats, and choose 'Most Compatible'. New photos will save as JPG. This won't convert photos you've already taken, so use the converter for existing HEIC files.
Is the converter free?
Yes — free, no sign-up, no watermark, and it runs entirely in your browser so your photos never leave your device.
